Universal Fluss+ Installation Guide: Wiring, Power & Setup Instructions

Universal installation guide for Fluss+

This guide will walk you through wiring and powering on your Fluss+ device.

IdeaTip: For motor-specific wiring diagrams and brand-by-brand installation help, visit fluss.io/installation.

Prepare for installation

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:

  1. Physical access to the device's PCB where Fluss+ will be installed

  2. A screwdriver (flat-head or Phillips)

WarningWARNING: Electrical shock hazard. Turn power off at the circuit breaker or switch and disconnect any batteries from the installation area before you begin. A qualified electrician may be required to complete the installation.

Connect the Fluss+ device

AlertCAUTION: Please check your device's manual to ensure that it provides direct current (DC) power and not alternating current (AC). If it provides AC, you will require an AC/DC converter or rectifier. The Fluss+ operates within a voltage range of 3.7V – 28V DC only. If your device's power output falls outside this range, you will need to use a relay to connect the Fluss+.

The diagram below provides the details of each wire on the Fluss+ device.

AlertCAUTION: Please ensure that you have not mixed up the red and black wires, or this may damage the Fluss+ and potentially your device.

Red wire (Positive)

Connect the red wire to the +ve power output of the device (normally labelled "+", "+12V", "+28V", "AUX 12V" or similar) — ensure that it is DC and not AC.

Black wire (Ground)

Connect the black wire to the -ve or ground output of the device (normally labelled "-", "GND", "COM" or "COMMON").

White wire (Trigger)

Connect the white wire to the button/trigger input terminal of the device (normally labelled "CYC", "IMPULSE", "IMP", "KBUTT", "OPERATE", "OSC", "PB", "PP", "SBS", "SS", "START", "STRT", "SW", "TRG", "WALL BUTTON", "WALL CONTROL"). This wire allows the Fluss+ to trigger the device.

InfoWant to monitor your device's status? If you'd like to see the current status of your device in the Fluss+ app (for example, whether your garage door is open or closed), follow our guide on Sensor installation.

Turn it on

Double check the connections, plug in any batteries (if necessary) and switch the power back on to your device.

A blue light flashes briefly when the Fluss+ powers on. The light will turn off after a few seconds, but the device remains active.

If you do not see the blue light, double-check your wiring connections and ensure power is reaching the device.

IdeaNext step: Once you see the blue light, head over to How to claim a Fluss+ to complete your setup.
