Every Fluss+ widget triggers its device one of two ways: over Wi-Fi, using the internet, or over Bluetooth, directly from your phone. This guide explains the difference, how to change the setting, and why a device you expect might not be in the list.
| Wi-Fi | Bluetooth | |
|---|---|---|
| How it reaches the device | Over the internet | Directly, phone to Fluss+ device |
| Do you need to be nearby? | No | Yes, within Bluetooth range |
| Which devices are listed | Only those online and allowed to trigger over Wi-Fi | Every device you have access to |
| Status shown on the widget | Yes — Open or Closed | No |
| Recommended | Yes | Still in beta |
Tip: Wi-Fi is the more dependable of the two and is the default. Bluetooth triggering is still in beta and can be less reliable.
The way in differs by platform.
Touch and hold the widget, then tap Edit Widget. The settings show Connection, Device, and Confirm before opening.
Touch and hold the widget, then tap Settings. Android runs the setup as a short series of dialogs, starting with Connection.
Pick the connection type you want:
On iPhone this is the Connection row, where Bluetooth is labelled Bluetooth (Beta). On Android, choosing Bluetooth shows a Bluetooth is in beta dialog — tap Continue to proceed, or Use Wi-Fi to switch back.
The device list depends on the connection you picked, so check it after changing. On iPhone, tap Device; on Android, a Choose a gate dialog appears.
Important: Switching from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi can empty the list, because Wi-Fi shows only devices that are online right now. On Android an empty list shows No gates with Wi-Fi access and closes the dialogs without changing anything — the widget keeps its previous settings.
The widget shows a small Wi-Fi or Bluetooth icon in its top corner, so you can tell at a glance which one it's using.
One setting only applies to Wi-Fi: confirm before opening, the double-tap safety step. On Bluetooth a single tap always triggers the device.
Being out of Bluetooth range does not remove a device from the Bluetooth list — every device you have access to stays listed. Only the trigger itself fails when you're too far away.
