Issues with One-Time-Pins

To use the Fluss Plus app, you must sign in with your phone number and a One-Time-Pin (OTP). We offer two delivery methods: WhatsApp OTP and SMS OTP. This login is persistent on our servers, so you typically only need to authenticate once—unless you delete the app, sign in on a new device, or log in via our admin dashboard. This article explains common OTP-related problems and how to resolve or avoid them, including why OTPs can't be shared, service outages, country restrictions, and special considerations for dual-SIM phones.

Understanding OTP Login Behavior

  1. Use your own phone number for login
Always sign in with your personal phone number and the OTP sent directly to you (via WhatsApp or SMS). If an installer or someone else sets up your Fluss Plus device and shares their phone number + OTP with you, your session will be logged out quickly once they (or the system) re-authenticates. This is a security feature to prevent unauthorized access—each phone number maintains its own active session.
  2. Avoid logging into the admin dashboard while using the app
Logging into the Fluss admin dashboard with the same phone number will automatically log you out of the Fluss Plus mobile app (and vice versa). This is by design for session security. If you need access to both, use separate devices or coordinate timing to avoid conflicts.

Common OTP Issues and Solutions

Here are the most frequent reasons OTP delivery fails and what to do:

  • Prefer WhatsApp OTP over SMS
Our WhatsApp OTP service is generally more reliable and almost always available. Whenever possible, select WhatsApp during login. It delivers faster and is less prone to carrier or regional issues.
  • Dual-SIM phones: Configure the correct SIM for receiving SMS OTPs
On dual-SIM Android devices, incoming SMS (including OTPs) routes to the SIM set as the default/preferred for messages/SMS. If your phone number is linked to SIM 1 but SIM 2 is set as default for SMS, you may not receive the OTP.
After configuring, retry the OTP request.
  • SMS OTP service downtime
Occasionally, our SMS provider experiences outages. If SMS fails but WhatsApp works, use WhatsApp. We apologize for any inconvenience and work to restore SMS service as quickly as possible. If both fail, wait a short while and retry, or contact support.
  • Blocked country codes
To combat fraud, we have restricted OTP delivery (both SMS and WhatsApp) from certain high-risk countries. If you're in one of these regions and neither method works, your country code may be blocked. Reach out to us directly—we can review and assist on a case-by-case basis.

Security & Best Practices

  • Never share your OTP with anyone, even trusted installers—request they guide you to log in with your own number instead.
  • Enable two-factor authentication features where available and keep your phone number up to date in the app to avoid login issues.
  • Use WhatsApp OTP as the default method for reliability, and ensure your WhatsApp is linked to the same phone number you're using for Fluss Plus.
  • If you frequently switch devices or clear app data, be prepared to re-authenticate—treat OTPs as sensitive security codes. On dual-SIM setups, double-check your default SMS SIM before requesting OTPs.
